The 2024 FROM Pre-Con

June 13, 2024

10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

This year’s FROM Pre-Conference Training will explore the role of public policy and advocacy in advancing your organization’s goals, providing an overview of the current state and federal policies that most directly impact people with disabilities, and discussing how to get involved at the local and state levels to shape the passage and implementation of those policies.

The FROM Pre-Con will feature strategies and tools to help you prepare for a successful advocacy campaign, including identifying your policy goals, key messages, allies, policymaker targets, and metrics to measure your success. Through our facilitator Mary Kingston Roche’s unique and proven approach to community building and legislative advocacy, you will also examine issues like intellectual humility, unlikely partnerships, and remaining true to yourself amid public conflict.
