Share Your Knowledge at
The 28th Annual Family Cafe

The Annual Family Café thrives on the wide range of knowledge, experience, and expertise shared by our presenters, which enables us to offer attendees a selection of breakout sessions that cater to the varied needs and interests of Florida’s disability community. Whether you’re providing valuable information, leading a hands-on training, or sharing personal stories, your involvement helps make The Annual Family Café a meaningful experience for everyone.

The 28th Annual Family Café will offer in-person speaking opportunities on Friday, June 12  and Saturday, June 13. Virtual sessions will not be accommodated at this time.

Information on the Presentation Proposal form should be filled out exactly as you would like it to appear in the event program. Please note that this applies to all contact information and the presentation synopsis.

Please limit both the presentation synopsis and the description of your expertise to between 75 and 100 words.

To be considered, all Presentation Proposals must be received by January 7. They will be reviewed by The Family Cafe Planning Committee on the following criteria and applicants will be notified of their status by January 31.

  1. Clear, engaging content
  2. Practical insights
  3. Resources provided

The Family Café encourages the use of respectful and inclusive language. Consider using identity-first (“disabled person”) or people-first (“person with a disability”) terminology and avoiding euphemisms (“differently abled”) or impairment-based language (“suffers from”).

Product-specific demonstrations will not be accepted unless presented by a non-profit.

If accepted, presenters must register as attendees for The 28th Annual Family Café. A $250 registration fee will apply for presenters who identify as professionals. Registration fees are waived for individuals with disabilities and their family members.

Presenters are welcome to submit multiple Presentation Proposals. However, please note that no individual can deliver more than three total presentations as presenter or co-presenter at the event.

To submit a presentation proposal, you’ll be directed to Accelevents where sign-in is required. This allows you to save your work and return to complete your submission later if needed.

Please click “Become a Presenter” to begin the application process.
