Florida’s Behavioral Health System for Children, Youth and Young Adults

Florida’s behavioral health system has undergone significant changes over the last five years, resulting in a system that is confusing and challenging for parents, caregivers and professionals assisting them. This presentation provides an overview of Florida’s current behavioral health system for children, youth, and young adults. Participants learn about what agencies provide behavioral health services, what services and supports are covered by the department, and how to access them. In addition, the presenters provide resource information targeted to parents, caregivers and youth. The presentation also provides an overview of System of Care Principles which the Department of Children and Families is working to infuse into the service delivery system.
