The September CAN Newsletter
The September 2019 edition of our Change Agent Network newsletter is here!
While it might seem like it wasn't that long ago that the state legislative session came to a close, it's already time to start thinking about this year's session, which officially begins in January. In the meantime, there are a series of committee weeks scheduled for the fall. The first article in this month's newsletter reviews the schedule for those committee weeks, and highlights important news about information the legislature has requested from APD as it examines the issue of how best to fund Florida's Home and Community Based Waiver. This is the right time to get your legislator's attention, before the hectic session opens, so we've included links on how to contact your State Senator and Representative.
The newsletter also includes information on the Presentation Proposal process for The 22nd Annual Family Cafe. If you would like to submit a presentation, or if you know someone in your community that would be a good fit for our event, be sure to check out the presentation info here.
Finally, there's an item to provide a preview of our newest initiative, FROM, the Family-Run Organization Movement. The idea behind FROM is to help local and regional family and youth-run organizations develop, thrive, and connect the people they serve with information and resources on a local level, much as The Family Cafe does for the state.
